Memories from the Past...
We did not know it at the time, but this was the beginning of the end. The last of my 16 seasons as a coach. The administration had fallen to the depths of non-support to the extent that summer school was cancelled and hence our water polo classes. We faced the edict of reducing our travel squads and number of games so that we only played 16 games and only 3 of the 19 freshmen who were recruited completed the season.

This team never lost the desire to excel and always tried their best.

Do you remember that Gardella got so excited when his eye brow got cut that he took the ice bag from me and put it on his knee?

Very interesting statistics emanated from a .500 team that directly related to playing fundamental water polo. WE had 39 ejections to our opponents 117, WE gave up 4 penalty throws to our opponent's 19 and we had NO major fouls.
