The San Francisco Olympic Club hosted the
first annual Peter J. Cutino Award ceremony honoring the outstanding
male and female inter-collegiate water polo players for 1999. The
evening may be recognized as one of the greatest assemblages of past,
present, and future athletes, coaches and managers who have contributed
to the great sport of Water Polo. The photos below depict the spirit
of the evening.
Andy Burke and buddies Jack McNees seated on the left
chat, with Rich Donner upper right and Art Lambert standing left,
about some of some former Wednesday night activities in the swimming
pool that used to be filled with ocean water.

Former Olympic Club players, goalie
Chris Greene and ex-Cal Bear
Jack McNees collect autographs
on water polo balls headed for
their memorabila collections

Sharing the comradery of the evening are seated from left to
right: Linda McNees, Jack McNees, Mary Jo Lambert with
those standing from left to right, Rich Donner, Emilie Donner
and Art Lambert The Donners live nearby on the peninsula,
the Lamberts in Sand Point, Idaho and Jack and Linda planed
from Atlanta, Georgia.
3 former members of San
Jose State's 1957 Championship Water Polo Team recall favorable memories
from over 40 years ago. Art got a great laugh out of Peter's response
to Rich's question regarding complimentary starting times at Pebble
Beach. Just thought I would ask...
Old
Sequoians never die they just gather and talk about the great
times they had playing against Paly way way back in the 1950's. Standing
from left to right around the kneeling Art Belcher are Rich Donner,
Jim Gaughran, Art Lambert, Bob Gaughran and Skip Roggenbihl.
Many memories were rekindled on this wonderful evening when former
friends and foes united to share memories of the past and fond hopes
for the future.
