What a great opportunity the internet provides those
of us who face certain things, on a near daily basis, that are irritating,
and for the most part, avoidable. One must realize that complaining
about something that bothers you may require the recitation of the
following prayer:
"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I cannot accept,
and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to maim
today because they ticked me off.
Also, help me to be careful of the toes I step on today, as they
may be connected to the fanny that I may have to kiss tomorrow."

TRAFFIC
and AUTOS: --- Does it bother you?...
When you step in a crosswalk and DO NOT get
the right-of-way?
Walkers beware! Although, by law, you do have the right to
walk across the street between the cross walk markers, do
not assume that it is safe to do so. A lot of people,
thinking only about their own chores and only of themselves,
may not acknowledge your presence. So proceed with extreme
caution because a 3000 pound moving missile will win everytime.
Regardless of the law...yield to the moron driving the car
and you will not be dead right.
When a driver merges into your lane, forces you to
slow down, or cuts you off, then gives you the infamous flip
of the phalange?
You, as the driver of a motor vehicle, are obliged to know
the rules of the road. As a former driver training teacher,
let me remind you that you should never turn into a lane or
merge into a lane when you will make the oncoming automobile
slow down. Never ever!
When the person driving the car in front of you changes
lanes and/or slows down sporadically?
It seems to be happening more and more each day. You can place
a reasonable bet that if you position your car side by side
with the offending vehicle that you will notice the driver
appears to have a cell phone coming out of their ear. There
ought to be laws EVERYWHERE, that dictate two hands on the
steering wheel, and two eyes on the road.
When everywhere you drive you have to wait in traffic?
The influx of people into the San Franciso Bay Area and Peninsula
has created traffic patterns that are beginning to rival those
of Los Angeles. This situation requires adjustments in allocation
of time to get from one place to another, and with it comes
the additional caution that must be taken to protect against
the unassuming driver. In addition, comes frustration and
anger. This is the point, before you let your anger influence
your state of mind and ruin your day, remember that the only
person who suffers when you are angry is YOU. What the hay...the
people in the other cars don't even know that you are mad.
So chill and think of something nice while your wheels are
still rolling forward You will get where you are going and
will be a pleasant person when you arrive.
When you get into your car and you see a "ding" in
the door or fender?
It doesn't bother ME, it makes me furious!!! I try to keep
my car looking as nice as I can, so I hate it when people,
out of sheer carelessness, open their doors too wide and make
contact. It infuriates me to watch people let children open
car doors with absolutely no concern for another's property.
Just for a moment, regardless of your concern, or lack of
same, for your own personal property, think about exiting
from your car with caution so that you do not put a mark in
another person's vehicle. It may not mean much to those of
you whose cars are entered in the demolition derby, but the
rest of us will sure appreciate your consideration. |

EXPRESSION:---
Does it bother you?...
When you would like to express yourself but
remain quiet?
Don't let things that bother you build up inside of you.
Speak up for yourself: First be sure that you have a good
foundation for your feelings, then courteously seize an opportunity
and express your concerns. At least you have your thoughts
out of your system. Who knows?, what you want may not happen
exactly as you would like, but a compromise is certainly not
out of the question.
When others speak in a class or meeting when the lecturer
is speaking?
If it doesn't, it should. It is nothing other than rude. Show
some consideration for others and be quiet when the person
with the floor is speaking. Consider the possibility that
you may be preventing someone from hearing something that
is important to THEM. Trust me, your chit chat is, without
a doubt, annoying. A former football coach at a local University
used to handle that situation by saying "You may not want
to hear me, but but I do not want to hear you either.
When you hear someone belch out loud (or worse) in
public?
Belching in public is a gross sign of rudeness, it is inconsiderate
and will give others the impression that you are an insensitive
pig. Remember that unless they get to know otherwise that
is the impression that YOU have given. If you have a compulsion
to rid yourself of unwanted air, try the remedy of getting
some pals together and watching "Blazing Saddles". You will
discover that you are not the first person in history from
which an unusual sound has emanated.
To go to an event when men do not remove their hats
during the national anthem?
It is too bad that these morons even come out of their holes
to attend any public event. Usually they have their hats on
backward and may even wear a glove on one hand. My guess is
that they are too self indulged or stupid to recognize proper
etiquette and respect. Most seem to be totally fixed on trying
to look intelligent. Yo...dude--- If you don't like it here,
go home. I would like to see some of the younger malcontents
wishing they could be at a function in the USA rather than
behind a wall or in a hole fighting an enemy of the United
States. Be proud and take you hats off. God Bless America!
