GAME TIME KEEPER: (records exact periods of when the
ball is actually in play)
start clock: when player touches the ball
stop clock: each time the whistle blows
restart clock: when ball it "put into play" (ball leaves hand
of player taking free throw, penalty throw, goal throw or corner throw.)
duration of game:
7 minute periods
2 minutes between periods
5 minutes between halves
2 minutes for time out (notify referee when 1:45 have elapsed)
POSSESSION TIME KEEPER -35 second clock: (records periods
of continuous possession by each team)
start: beginning of period when the first player gains possession of the
ball.
stop: each time the whistle blows.
resume: when ball leaves the hand of player taking free throw.
reset: when ball leaves the hand of the shooter
reset again: (when ball rebounds into field of play after
an attempt)
1. when one team gains possession of the ball
2. after Penalty throw, if shot is missed
3. on goal throw or corner throw
4. on ball under water call
5. when referee blows whistle if player "dumps" ball before
expiration of 30 sec.
6. after an ejection
7. turn clock off: when less than 35 seconds remain in the period.
SCORING SECRETARY: (record: score, time outs, and fouls
for each player)
Official Scorebook (home team):
1. names and cap number in numerical order of all players
2. goals: time and cap number
3. personal fouls: (exclusion [ejection], or 4 meter=P) time and cap number
4. player's removal: (brutality, misconduct, disrespect): time and cap
number
5. notify coach and referee when team has used it's 3 time outs.
6. notify referee as soon as player is assessed with 3rd personal foul.
EJECTION SECRETARY: (assumed by scoring sec. if there
is no ejection sec.)
1. record cap number of excluded player
2. record time of exclusion
3. record time of reentry
4. raise and wave white or blue flag to signal a legal reentry of excluded
player
5. raise red flag AND BLOW WHISTLE to signal an illegal reentry.
6. raise and wave red flag if it is player's 3rd personal (exclusion and
or penalty fouls)
